Ian Duffield and a number of the team will be cycling a virtual ride at Tesco Heanor this Saturday 21st April, what will take us 2 days in June on the actual ride, this will be completed in a single day by the riders cycling in a relay using a spin bike.

We are looking to start pedalling around 8am and hope to be completed by 5pm after completing 146 miles, we are there to raise money and awareness for Prostate Cancer which affects 1 in 8 men

The event is part of a larger fundraising initiative called Football to Amsterdam which Ian is taking part in from June 1-3, when 400 football fans will cycle 145 miles over two days to meet at Ajax’s Amsterdam ArenA.

Ian said: “I am riding for the team as a collective, the team so far has raised over £16,000. Thank you to Tesco Heanor for letting us use their store to further extend our message of awareness and raise much-needed funds for further research Prostate Cancer.”

Over the last 20 years, PCUK has invested over £37million into groundbreaking research and now have a greater understanding of the disease and how it evolves. There is still so much to learn and they are now investing heavily in research, focusing on the following 3 areas: better diagnosis, better treatment and better prevention. These are obviously all key to stopping this disease kill 1 man every 45 mins. The long-term plan is to stop men dying from PC within 10 years

If you are not near Tesco Heanor on Saturday you can still help Ian raise funds https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ian-duffield

Thanks for your support and we hopefully see you Saturday
